No, not classic questions about Audi, like why is my check engine light on, but questions about classic Audis.
We were up in da UP for LSPR and were checking out some cars during the show. When looking at the Audi Quattro, we noticed a couple of interesting things that we couldn’t figure out.
What is this part on top of the exhaust manifold that has what I assume to be oil lines on it?
Also, what does the heat exchanger beneath the spoiler cool on the race car?

Neat, thanks for the answer.
I was thinking the same, that it had to do with the differential in the rear. But that’d be a long ways to pump any sort of oil, which made me wonder if there was another coolant circuit in the rear and a coolant-differential oil heat exchanger back there.
The company I work for does heat exchangers which is why I’m nerding out over it.
